50 years of gardening in Sechelt

June 26, 1968 -- "Sechelt Garden Club president Mr. Frank Read and Retired Garden Man, Mr. Tom Barber admire the beautiful flame roses and white spirea table decoration which won the Garden Club's special prize in the Spring Show. Mr. Barber who is now 74 years old, wrote a 600 word column for the Vancouver Sun. Now retired he has spent the last nine years testing seeds for All America Selections, doing all the work himself.
