Sunshine Coast Conservation Officers are investigating a shot and left bull Roosevelt Elk that was poached sometime during the early morning hours of Sat. Nov. 25 off the Halfmoon-Carlson FSR just North of Wormy Lake.
The bull was dropped with a single shot and left to rot; no meat was removed from the carcass and the bull was not of age or size to be considered a trophy animal. The lawful elk hunting season was over in this region at the time of the incident, and the elk was shot during hours of darkness using a spot light.
The Conservation Officer Service is asking any member of the public with any information related to this senseless and wasteful act to call the Report All Poachers and Polluters hotline at 1-877-952-7277. All information will remain confidential. Submitte
