‘Invest Locally’ public forum

Local prosperity supporting community values – that’s what Coast Community Investment Co-op representatives will discuss Jan. 26 at its Invest Locally public forum, hosted by Sunshine Coast Credit Union. The new, member-owned Co-op invests in local businesses and projects that support social and environmental goals such as food security, affordable housing, environmental resilience, and job creation.

“When you have a community built on strong collaborative and co-operative principles, everyone wins” Shelley McDade, CEO, Sunshine Coast Credit Union said. “Community investment that delivers both financial and social well-being is core to a thriving community. Together, we can leverage our collective strength and achieve even more.”

Attendees at the Invest Locally event will hear from Sunshine Coast leaders and learn more about joining the Co-op.

The Co-op is one of three Rhiza Capital investment vehicles including the Venture Capital Corporation and the Community Investment Corporation, varying in risk and return and community impact.

The meeting is free, at the Credit Union, 5655 Teredo St., Sechelt, Thursday, Jan.26, 5:30-7pm.   Submitted
