Local Events Submission Guidelines

How to send a Local Event listing to us:

When: Month, day of the week and date
Time: 11:00am-5:00pm. Like this
Who: Name of group, club or organization
What: A brief description of your event.
Age limits, all welcome etc.
Tickets available where?

Here is a sample:

•7:00pm-Midnight. Valentine’s Dance Fundraiser for Sunshine Coast Girls Softball. Gibsons Legion, Gibsons. Great DJ, Appetizers and Door Prizes. Tickets $20 available at Hallmark, Sunnycrest Mall, Gibsons. Come out have a fun evening and help support girls softball on the Coast.

When sending in your information Please:

Do not use bold or all caps type.
Do not double or triple spaces between sentences
Do not press return at the end of a line. Just let the text flow.
Do not send posters. Please type the pertinent information in the body of the e-mail
If you are sending more that one event, please include your contact information and any other common information in all listings
AGM’s are now listed in Local Events
Do not send your information repeatedly. Go on-line to thelocalweekly.ca and see if your information is there already.
When sending in a correction please point out specifically what the changes are.
Do not send attachments. Please type your information into the body of your e-mail.

There is a tremendous demand for on-going event listings. We currently do not have room in the print version of our paper to list on-going events, however we are working on our on-line version.
