An adaptation of the ancients

Off The Page is a play reading series held at the Heritage Playhouse, produced by Wanda Nowicki and Janet Hodgkinson.  Season Two begins on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1pm with a new work by David King, read by local actors.

“Relax, Gilgamesh”, is a stage adaptation of the Legend of Gilgamesh, considered to be the very first epic poem, predating the Iliad by more than a thousand years. Much of the action takes place in a seaside tavern owned by Siduri, the Goddess of Wisdom and Beer, who helps Gilgamesh come to terms with being human. Perfect set up for comedy. Admission is by donation.
