Social media, innovation and business speed dating are all on the agenda for the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce’s annual general meeting on March 28. The event, to be held at the Gibsons Public Market, is open to anyone interested. Tickets are $15 or $10 for Chamber members.
Headlining the event will be Gary Bizzo, business coach, internet innovator, and social media expert. He is a sought after speaker, business writer for local and national magazines, and author of How to Start a Successful Business – The First Time!
“I wrote the book for young people who want to be their own boss, but I discovered that it’s equally applicable to Baby Boomers,” said Bizzo. “Jobs that are satisfying to mature and experienced persons are few and far between, so we find ourselves looking for a business opportunity instead.”
Bizzo’s keynote address will be on “Finding the Entrepreneur Within.”
The evening starts at 5 p.m. with a reception and business speed dating, followed by the keynote address at 6 p.m., and the business meeting.
The Gibsons Chamber is particularly proud to be holding the event in the newly opened Gibsons Public Market building. “The Gibsons Public Market is a great example of the whole community pitching in to make an innovative project happen,” said Dean Walford, Chamber President. “We’re very happy to have this beautiful meeting space available again.”
