On March 9 at 2:45pm, a school bus driver reported that he had stopped at Redroofs and O’Brian Rd in Halfmoon Bay to drop off school children. The bus had its emergency lights flashing and the stop sign out, but a white BMW X3 drove around the school bus narrowly missing a child about to cross the street. Drivers are reminded they must not pass a school bus with lights and stop sign out or they will face a $368 fine plus 3 points on their driver’s licence as per Section 149 of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations.
