Since COVID-19 is limiting travel opportunities and British Columbians are planning trips closer to home, the 2021 camping season is expected to be a busy one. Starting Monday, people living in the province will have priority access to campsite reservations throughout the summer in provincial parks. The Discover Camping reservation service (www.discovercamping.ca) will allow BC residents to book a campsite two months in advance of their arrival date. People living in other provinces will be able to reserve campsites after July 8 for the remainder of the season. Reservations for day-use facilities, including picnic shelters and halls, are to remain closed. Over 1,200 campsites have been added to provincial parks and recreation sites in the last three years, and more sites are expected to be added this season. Go to bcparks.ca to learn more.
