On Sept. 11 just before noon, an attempted dognapping occurred at a residence in the 5800 block of Spindrift Street, Sechelt. The suspect, a heavy-set blonde haired woman in her mid-40s, exited a white older model SUV and approached a tethered dog in the front yard with a leash in hand and tried to put the leash on the dog when the owner exited the house and confronted the suspect. The suspect fled but unfortunately, the dog owner was unable to obtain a licence plate. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact RCMP, reference police file 2019-6359.
