Sunshine Coast ElderCollege Chair, Keith Maxwell, and Bruce Bauman, Manager of Recreation Services of the Sunshine Coast Regional District, have signed an agreement to partner in the delivery of ElderCollege’s popular educational programs for those aged 55 and over.
Starting this fall, the Regional District will advertise ElderCollege programs and handle registration. The Regional District’s registration system will help reduce costs and ElderCollege plans to cut fall course fees by 11 per cent, from $45 to $40. ElderCollege will continue to offer its usual range of high quality courses delivered by experienced professionals.
ElderCollege was formerly under the umbrella of Capilano University, which continues to be a valued associate. Most courses will be held at Capilano University’s Sunshine Coast Campus as well as in the Regional District’s and other community facilities.
“ElderCollege welcomes this new partnership with the Regional District and we look forward to working with them,” said Maxwell. “Their services are very much in line with our group’s needs and our collaboration means that we can serve the community more effectively. ”
