Facilities being “reimagined”

The District of Sechelt has three community-use facilities that are being reimagined. The District would like community feedback on how and when they would use the facilities as well as what amenities the facilities should have.

The public is invited to an open house at the three facilities: Rockwood Lodge, Seaside Centre and Mission House. Citizens, organizations and businesses are encouraged to attend to view the spaces and provide feedback. There will be paper surveys at the open house and available on the District website.

Facilities can be used for birthday parties, meetings, art shows, training sessions, weddings, fairs, corporate retreats, celebrations of life, yoga classes or Christmas parties.

The open house is from noon to 3pm on Thursday, Sept. 12 at the following locations:  Rockwood Lodge, 5511 Shorncliffe Avenue;  Mission Point House, 4603 Sunshine Coast Highway; and Seaside Centre, 5790 Teredo Street.

Lucy Clark the community services coordinator said, “It is so exciting to showcase our community facilities. We welcome all feedback and look forward to including community suggestions on future enhancements.”
