“Giving Thanks” concert

Flying solo, renowned performer and recording artist Valerie-Anne Rutter, one-half of the well-known duo Gemini, will be “Giving Thanks” in concert at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Gibsons, Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2:30pm. Val will perform sacred, classical and popular favourites on piano and recorders in the acoustically excellent St. Bart’s church. Tickets ($20 at Laedeli, Sechelt Visitor Centre, and at the door) include tea, coffee and refreshments following the performance.

Val has enjoyed an extensive performing career in Europe and North America, appearing as soloist with several orchestras, including the English String Orchestra. In Canada, she is often heard on CBC radio in her duo, Gemini. Their first CD was nominated for Best Classical Album in the West Coast Music Awards and they have been featured soloists with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and the Victoria and Edmonton Symphonies.
