Giving the undead a rest

In a regular year, this is the season that we are waking the dead from the archives, rolling out the gigantic spiders, and getting ready for the Halloween Block Party in Lower Gibsons. Last year in collaboration with Driftwood Players, Arts Building and Gibsons Library, we had over 800 ghouls and ghosts from the community congregate to celebrate Halloween Sunshine Coast style – what fun! We have decided to give the undead a rest this year and hopefully return in 2021 with more festive celebrations.
As we were delayed in having our Annual General Meeting back in April, we have scheduled our 2020 meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7pm. Login to view the meeting from the comfort of your own home to hear Museum news, updates related to COVID-19, and the election of the Museum Board of Directors. Head over to the Museum’s website (sun
shinecoastmuseum.ca) – on the main page you will see a clickable link that will take you to the page where you can view the AGM. If you have any technical questions about the Zoom platform, give us a call as we would love to walk you through the process. On a related note: did you know that the SCMA offers individual memberships ($20) and family memberships ($25)? Your annual membership helps support the work that we do, preserving and presenting the history of the Sunshine Coast, and we would love to have you on board. Drop into the Museum for a membership form or click on the Become a Member link under the About tab on our website. Have a safe and spooky Halloween from your friends at the Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives.
