Public hearing on SSC Properties development postponed

The public hearing on the proposed Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw for SSC Properties, scheduled for the evening of May 26, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

SSC’s proposal for a mixed residential/commercial development on 400 acres in south of Sandy Hook has passed first reading at Sechelt Council.

Mark Sager, SSC’s head of community relations, said the company is ready to go and looked forward to the May26 hearing, but a postponement was caused by a clerical error at municipal hall. Namely, a District staff member had attached a dated version of  the bylaw to the public hearing notice, which now has to be officially reissued with the correct version, Sager said.

He said SSC hoped the hearing could be rescheduled as soon as possible.

The public hearing for the proposed zoning amendment for the Vanta Pacific Resort dock will proceed as scheduled, Tuesday, May 26th at 7pm, in the Seaside Centre.
