Swimmer’s feat delayed for weather
Open water swimmer, Rachel Schoeler had to postpone her crossing of Georgia Strait last weekend due to unfavourable water conditions.
The swimmer was attempting a historic 35km swim across Georgia Strait in order to raise awareness of water quality issues.
“Unfortunately due to high wind advisories and white caps on the water Rachel’s swim has been delayed. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further details as soon as they come,” contact person for Schoeler wrote on Sunday. She noted Riverkeepsers advocate Schoeler will attempt the swim on the first weekend winds are light and wave height is not an impediment to the swim.
