Wanted men arrested in Salmon Inlet

Two men wanted in connection with a series of local break-ins—including one in which a handgun was stolen—have been taken into custody in Salmon Inlet, Sunshine Coast RCMP say.

On April 5, Sunshine Coast RCMP, along with the West Coast Marine, Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team members and Police Dog Services responded to information that two men with outstanding warrants had been spotted in Narrows Inlet.

West Coast Marine Services was in the area and agreed to assist with the search of the two males, who were also suspects in multiple break-ins both on the Ragged Islands and Sechelt Inlet. The males were believed to be armed, as a weapon had been reported stolen from at least one break-in.

We needed to elevate our response based on the information we had received with respect to firearms, said Sergeant Steve Chubey of the Sunshine Coast RCMP. The utilization of Lower Mainland ERT and police dog services added that measure of safety for all involved.

Travis Paradon-Netzlaw, 22 and James Graham, 27, were located in the Salmon Inlet near Misery Bay and were arrested after being tracked by the police dog. One of the pair sustained minor injuries during the arrest and was taken to Sechelt Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Both men were held in custody for two Vancouver warrants for:
– Theft over $5000
– Possess stolen property over $5000
– Mischief
– Break and Enter (two counts)
– Take vehicle without owner’s expense

Sunshine Coast RCMP are currently investigating the suspects in connection with several other property- and firearms-related offences.  Submitted
