The Sunshine Coast has been one of the last small markets in Canada to be served by two newspapers. Unfortunately, that is about to change as market conditions have resulted in this being the final issue of The Local Weekly. Suffice it to say, leaving a community that you have been an integral part of for over 20 years is not easy. The staff of The Local would like to express a debt of gratitude to you, our wonderful readers, as well as our loyal advertisers, for making us a part of your lives for so many years. We will miss bringing you this weekly publication.
